at the Lighthouse Auditorium, Friends House, London

The conference is free to attend with a catered lunch and an afternoon tea.
Registration is required.

The theme of this year’s event is Violence prevention in dialogue: Research and policy

Following five years of research into violence prevention and health inequalities focused on improving measurement, policy, and practice, and delivered through a strong cross-sector partnership spanning the third sector, academia, and central and local government, we are showcasing our research in partnership with our stakeholders. In addition, we are inviting those working in violence prevention to critically assess VISION’s contributions and identify where further research is needed.

Two keynote sessions

Keynote 1: Professor Gene Feder, Director of VISION, and Jo Todd, CEO of Respect, will discuss working across silos in violence prevention and the challenges and opportunities.

Keynote 2: Professor Kate Fitz Gibbon from Monash University (Australia), will present the National plan to end violence against women and children, a 10-year national framework in Australia, and the evaluation efforts to measure its success. She will also compare and contrast Australia’s plan to the UK’s cross-government strategy to end violence to women and girls.

Three symposia

Insight and Inclusion will highlight key VISION findings through discussions with stakeholders and practitioners who are closely engaged in the work and able to offer critical perspectives. These sessions will explore the significance of the research, identify areas where further work is needed, and invite reflections from those working on the front lines of violence prevention.

The final symposium, Involve, will showcase dynamic, ongoing VISION research in collaboration with key stakeholders, with initiatives set to continue beyond the life of the consortium—looking ahead to what the future may hold.
